Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why should I join NorthCoast Infusion Network?
NorthCoast believes that there is power in numbers. We are bringing
together the independent and smaller infusion providers to bring a
voice to the table. We believe we create synergy by working together
rather than separately. NCIN will explore all opportunities to
contract nationally or regionally with payors, employers, drug
manufacturers, and specialty pharmacies to provide high-tech
pharmacy, nursing, and disease management at the local level. NCIN
seeks to:
- Deliver a more cost-effective alternative to national commercial payors
- Provide the pharmaceutical manufacturers with consistent,
nation-wide compliance protocols, as well as demographic and
dispensing data
- Compliment the strengths of specialty pharmacies at the local
level
- Be a voice for the local infusion provider with payors and other
health care organizations.
2. Who will be in the network?
- We are targeting the local or regional, independent provider. We
may expand to other types of providers in the future, but at this
time our focus is working with independents and regionals. We will
have national geographic coverage for all 50 states.
3. How much will it cost to be part of the network?
There is no fee involved. All we ask is to have access to your data
and a request for your involvement and time (subject to your
availability) to help move this initiative forward.
4. How will being part of the network benefit me?
- We are working to secure national and/or regional contracts to
provide services. By being part of the network, you will receive
referrals from these payors when an opportunity presents itself in
your area.
- NorthCoast will place an emphasis on cultivating stronger
relationships with drug manufacturers and the home infusion industry
through:
- Access to continuing education specific to the new bio-tech
specialty infusible drugs coming through the pipeline.
- Direct access to drug manufacturer’s expert pharmacists and
protocols
- Introduction to the local drug manufacturing representative in
your local market.
- Local providers will have a preferred referral posture with local
manufacturer representatives secondary to a more accurate reporting
of prescribing trends.
- Potential for gaining access to “restricted access” drugs
- Potential for lowering cost of goods and possibly having better
terms
- Potential for receiving reports benchmarked against other
providers
- Increased ability to expand payor base
- Greater opportunity to sell nursing and support services to
administer and teach patients/caregivers appropriate administration
techniques of the medications.
- Membership in the network is at NO COST to the provider.
- Custom educational/ceu programs
